How Long Does a Human Hair Wig Last?
Realistically: 1–3 years. Here's what shortens that, and what extends it.

The honest range
A quality human-hair piece, worn a few times a week and cared for, lasts one to three years. Daily wear in hard water and sun cuts that in half. Occasional wear with proper storage pushes it past three.
What shortens the life
Hot water washes, sulfate shampoos, sleeping in the piece, and over-washing. The lace goes first — it yellows and thins long before the hair itself gives up.
What extends it
Wash only when it actually needs it (every 8–10 wears, not daily), air-dry on the stand, use a heat protectant, and rotate between two pieces so each rests. Your second piece pays for itself in extended life on the first.
