Why a refresh beats a wash
Every wash wears the lace and the fiber. A refresh — no water, no shampoo — revives the piece for several more wears, so you wash only when the wig is actually dirty.
The two-minute refresh
Mist lightly with a leave-in conditioner spray, detangle from the bottom up with a wide-tooth tool, and smooth a few drops of lightweight oil through the mid-lengths and ends. Reset the part with your fingers.
Know when it's actually wash time
Wash when the cap feels oily at the nape, the fiber looks dull and won't revive with a mist, or there's visible product buildup. That's usually every 8–10 wears — not every day.
